Lynn Duryea

"Through elemental shape and form, my reference is to architectural and mechanical elements as well as large scale industrial objects and sites."
"The objects are evocative of abandoned sites of human activity, generating feelings of
melancholy and stillness."
"traces of transformation that generate narratives of accretion and deterioration."
"I am interested in how structure as well as the methods of construction and assembly can become part of the visual language of an object."
I feel as though Steve would be interested in this artist by the way in which she creates her work and how her work is based on architectural and structural forms.

Shanna Fliegel

" I attempt to shape characters within the fantasy worlds that once
dictated our childhood thoughts"
"Absurdity and humor are themes that circulate
throughout situations I illustrate"
" I also question the disposition of contemporary society’s relationship
with animals, and am interested in ideas that surround humans’ need to
anthropomorphize them"

I think this work would be of interest to Amy, Emma King and Hubert because I see a similar theme of combining human and animal characteristics in Fliegel's work and their own. Also the way in which Emma and Hubert make their work is quite comparable.

Novie Trump

Escape

Waiting

The Broken Places Are Where The Light Shines Through

I believe that Maeve would really like this artist as I see a lot of her interests and similar themes of fragility within Trump's work. I also think that a lot of Trump's work would appeal to Danielle as a lot of her work deals with nature and juxtaposition .

"My work is a visual exploration of the resilient fragility of nature."
"to create modern reliquaries from clay."
"crafting intimate narratives that explore the cycles of  life in nature."

Ilena Finocchi

Untitled. Slipcast Translucent Porcelain, Lighting, Wood

Equilibrium Interrupted. Smoke fired & Terra Sig Earthenware

Untitled. Earthenware & found Archie Bray drying Board

I believe this artist would appeal to Emma King due her ideas of fantasy and how her ability to play comes out within in her work. Also i feel as though Zara would like Finocchi's work that involves the translucency of porcelain and how this work deals with the memories from her childhood.

"I build narratives through fantasy and play just as a child naturally would."
" metaphorical symbols which are personal reminders of my past."
" adventurous childhood and the unassuming confinements of adulthood."
"work explores metaphorical symbols which are personal reminders of my past."
