William DePauw

"interested in the visual references embodied in physical form".

"investigates the broad range of associations in an objects visual presence".

"Employing various arrangement and presentation strategies with these objects, DePauw investigates the subjective content that resonates with particular relationships and various juxtapositions".

This artist and their ideas reminds of the way in which Roisin creates her work. Although they are no way similar in appearance i feel as though she also deals with multiples allot and always has a strong reason behind using juxtaposition and association of objects.

My current work

I find beauty in the ordinary and natural forms within the landscape.

My work is an attempt to create a meaningful connection between the natural world and human interference.

It is also a visual response and sincere exploration of the cruelty of killer whales in captivity.

Through my installation I want the viewer to feel unsettled by witnessing the harsh conditions these animals have been put through.

"my work, which is a visual response and sincere exploration of this distance and estrangement felt from the world around me"

"Through my installations I want the viewer to feel unsettled, but not through a visually deceptive illusion"

"The constructed displays are interpretations of natural history museum diorama staging and are meant to question the viewer's placement in their surroundings"

"sense to not forget the things encountered in life and a desire to be a part of and make memories of things in the natural world that are mysterious and unfamiliar"

Immediately on viewing DeRocchi's work Amy came to mind as her work deals with nature and partial animal forms. After reading the artists statement I think Lizzie could relate to her ideas behind her art as I believe that Lizzie's work tends to make the viewer feel unsettled at times. I also myself am interested in this artist as she deal with nature and how we can create work to record a memory from our past.
